Linyanti and Savute lie between Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, creating an important wildlife corridor and one of the country’s most rewarding safari regions.

The area supports an exceptional variety of wildlife, including large herds of elephant and buffalo, together with lion, leopard, wild dog and spotted hyena. Zebra, wildebeest and numerous antelope species are also regularly seen.

Excellent game viewing and prolific birdlife can be enjoyed throughout the year, while the remote setting gives Linyanti and Savute a wonderfully wild and exclusive safari atmosphere.

• Each year, large herds of zebra move through the Savute region in search of fresh grazing, creating one of Botswana’s most impressive seasonal wildlife spectacles. The movement is particularly associated with the green season, when summer rains transform the dry landscape.
• Zebra and wildebeest move through the Savute region during the green season, taking advantage of fresh grazing and the seasonal abundance of water. The open grasslands also attract predators following the herds.
• Later in the season, the herds move northwards again towards the Chobe and Linyanti river systems, creating further opportunities for excellent wildlife viewing.
• Savute’s open plains are particularly rewarding for predator sightings, with lion, leopard and cheetah among the species attracted by the abundance of prey.
