  • Kruger Safari

The Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve offers a luxury South African safari experience, combining unrivalled Big Five game viewing and the best safari lodges in South Africa. Add exceptional service and hospitality, and fine cuisine, to this already incredible experience and you have a luxury South African safari that will linger in your memories forever.

  • “Private Game Reserves & Accommodation on your Kruger Safari” – Kruger National Park is dotted with private concessions and reserves, each with their own game rangers and lodges. These offer a more intimate and hospitality-focused experience for the guest in search of something apart from the often large and occasionally busy rest camps.

The numbers of people allowed, and accommodation offered, is limited, thus providing a more exclusive – and more real – African safari. There is however free movement of animals between Kruger and the Game Reserves as there are no fences, allowing game to move freely between areas.

Private Game Reserves in Kruger National Park Include:
    • Timbavati
    • Klaserie
    • Thornybush
    • Balule
    • Sabi Sand

Both the winter and summer months have their benefits. In Winter (May, June, July, August), the foliage is less dense and the game more visible as the animals seek out the scattered waterholes. During the summer months the animals have their young, the vegetation is lush and the late afternoon African storms are spectacular.

Kruger Safari

The iconic Kruger National Park in South Africa is steeped in legend and history.  It is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Africa. The original Sabie Game Reserve was proclaimed by President Paul Kruger in 1898 and later extended to its present size of approximately 8,000 square miles. The world-famous park attracts over one million visitors a year and offers a diversity of animals, great rivers, changing vegetation and memorable sightings.

There are 6 major rivers flowing throughout the year in addition to dams and water holes. The climate is subtropical and the wet season extends from October until May with much of the rainfall occurring as thunder storms of short duration. Game viewing in its vast landscapes for spectacular African wildlife is possible any time of the year.
