Begin your journey with a safari in Nyerere National Park, where the Rufiji River, lakes and woodland create a wonderfully varied landscape for wildlife viewing. Safari activities may include game drives and boat safaris, depending on your confirmed itinerary and selected camp.

After your safari, continue to Zanzibar for time to relax beside the Indian Ocean. Your beach stay can be tailored around your preferred accommodation, travel dates and length of stay.

    Nyerere National Park is one of southern Tanzania’s great wilderness areas and was established from part of the historic Selous Game Reserve. The park is shaped by the Rufiji River and its network of lakes, channels and woodland, creating a rich variety of habitats.

    The park supports an impressive range of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles and African wild dogs, together with abundant birdlife. Safari experiences may include game drives and boat safaris, depending on your confirmed itinerary.

  • BEST TIME TO GO ON A NYERERE SAFARI

    The dry season, generally from June to October, is a popular time to visit Nyerere National Park, when wildlife viewing can be particularly rewarding. Conditions and camp opening dates vary, so we will recommend the best options for your chosen travel dates.

Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Holiday

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Nyerere National Park

Arrive in Dar es Salaam and connect with your internal flight to Nyerere National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your safari camp.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy your first safari activity and begin exploring the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of southern Tanzania.

Days 2–4: Nyerere National Park

Spend three full days exploring Nyerere National Park. Safari activities will be arranged according to your confirmed itinerary and may include game drives and boat safaris along the Rufiji River.

Look out for the park’s varied wildlife, which may include elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, African wild dogs, hippos and crocodiles, together with abundant birdlife.

Day 5: Nyerere National Park – Zanzibar

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your selected Zanzibar accommodation.

Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Days 6–9: Zanzibar

Relax and enjoy your Zanzibar stay, with time for the beach and optional island experiences.

Your Zanzibar accommodation can be selected to suit your preferred style and budget, and optional excursions can be arranged as part of your personalised itinerary.

Day 10: Zanzibar – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your onward journey.
