Selous is the largest Reserve in Africa and one of the largest in the world.

Landscaped to perfection by nature’s hand it remains protected from human impact due to its remote and vast 50,000 km2 terrain. With its associated wetlands, lakes and swamps, it’s one of the most outstanding and unique ecological systems in the world.

Due to this unique ecosystem the Selous Game Reserve is honored as a World Heritage Site. The reserve is named after Frederick Courtney Selous, British Officer, Explorer, Hunter and Conservationist who was born on 31 December 1851.

BEST TIME TO GO ON A SELOUS SAFARI

The best time to visit Selous is in the dry season between June and October. All the lodges close down their operations in the months of March and reopen in June.

Nyerere Safari & Tanzania Beach

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Nyerere National Park
Arrive in Dar es Salaam and connect with your flight to Nyerere National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your safari camp.

Settle into your accommodation before enjoying your first safari experience in the beautiful wilderness of southern Tanzania.

Days 2–3: Nyerere National Park
Spend two days exploring Nyerere National Park. Safari activities will be arranged according to your confirmed itinerary and may include game drives, boat safaris and guided walking experiences.

The varied landscapes surrounding the Rufiji River provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, with elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, wild dogs and many other species found within the park.

Day 4: Nyerere National Park – Tanzania Coast
After your final safari activities, leave Nyerere and continue to Tanzania’s Indian Ocean coast for the beach portion of your holiday.

On arrival, transfer to your selected beach accommodation and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Days 5–7: Tanzania Beach Stay
Relax beside the Indian Ocean and enjoy three days at leisure. Your beach stay can be tailored to your preferred accommodation and may include optional activities available locally.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer for your onward journey to Dar es Salaam and your international flight arrangements.
