TARANGIRE LUXURY TREETOPS LODGE - TANZANIA

Description:

Located in the Tarangire Conservation Area, Tarangire Treetops is an innovative property. The 20 thatched tree-houses are built on platforms amongst a cluster of baobab, mopani and wild fig trees. Each has an en-suite shower and w.c., a lounge area and private veranda. The baobab Bar is built around an old baobab and guests can enjoy cocktails whilst watching the sunset. Leading off the bar, the dining area with its thatched roof and open sides is the perfect setting for the excellent cuisine served.

Due to being located outside the Tarangire National Park Treetops is able to offer optional activities such as walking safaris, night-drives and mountain bike trails at an additional cost. Situated in the Tarangire Conservation area, a mere 98 kilometres on good roads from Arusha town, the conservation area is a joint venture with the village of Lokisale and Halcyon Hotels East Africa,  to manage an area of 57 000 acres that adjoin the Tarangire National Park. Home to a unique Eco-System the area has all the same species of wildlife as the Tarangire National Park including buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant. Huge herds of elephant frequent the camp on their way to watering in the Sand River, ensuring year round resident game.

Tarangire Treetops features 20 Luxury tents, built atop tree-attached platforms, overlooking the Tarangire Sand River, with views westwards to Lake Manyara and eastwards to Mount Kilimanjaro. Tarangire Treetops is an innovative and stunningly original property consisting of large tree houses built upon platforms amongst a cluster of Baobab, Mopani and Wild Fig Trees. Each en-suite unit has a private veranda and lounge area, with sweeping views over the private Conservation area.
