Ngong House .......ultimate in exclusive accommodations

 

They are raised 15 ft from the ground to gain an uninterrupted view of the Ngong Hills over unspoiled bush.  The talents of regional artists and artisans add many of the finishing touches, such as hand woven rugs, bedcovers, lamps and stained glass.

Accommodation is in four double treehouses. Built entirely of wood the treehouses are on two levels with a bedroom area upstairs and a living area on the lower floor. On the lower level each treehouse represents the ultimate in exclusive accommodations. Decorated with beautiful paintings and object d' art, the sitting room is centered around a fireplace with comfortable sofas and chairs in which to relax.

The front of the treehouse is given over to glass and a verandah. Here you can eat, sleep, sunbathe or just enjoy the view.

Each treehouse represents the ultimate in exclusive accommodation. Decorated with beautiful paintings and objects d'art, the sitting room is centered around a fireplace with comfortable sofas and chairs in which to relax. There is also an intimate dining area, and a fully stocked bar, all entirely at your disposal. At the back of the house is a spacious bathroom with a shower and twin sinks.

Lunch is served in the garden under one of the many indigenous trees.
Dinner is served in a half open thatched rondavel with a huge fireplace and plenty of candles, creating this unique dinner atmosphere only found at Ngong House.

 

Ngong House ideally situated to visit many of Kenya's best attractions :
Nairobi National Park, Karen Blixen Museum, wonderful golf courses and the exciting market in down town Nairobi, etc.

Nature walks are a must, especially to visit the Giraffe Center ( home of the endangered Rothchild Giraffe), a twenty minute walk from Ngong House..

Ngong House is a privately owned home on the outskirts of Nairobi in the Karen district. Far away from any main roads it is situated on 10 acres of private land offering a stunning view of the Ngong Hills.

CUISINE

Ngong House has a reputation of serving refined food prepared with local ingredients -game meat, fresh lake fish, seafood flown in from the Indian Ocean , all prepared with a large variety of fresh vegetables, in tasty yet healthy way.

Below is an example of a typical four course dinner:

-grilled shrimps, prepared with ginger and honey, presented in a pineapple shell, on a bed of tossed garden salad.
-asparagus rolled in a slither of tilapia fish fillet topped with museline sauce
-fillet of game meat accompanied by a wide selection of vegetables all presented to please both the palate and the eye.
-a delicate combination of chocolate cake and fruit mousse and topped with a mango coulis.
-coffee, home made Petit fours. And to finish a delicious French or South African brandy.
-All wine served with the meal is from South Africa.
