Day 1: Nairobi Upon arrival into Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to the Safari Park Hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Safari Park Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 2: Masai Mara After breakfast depart for Masai Mara National Park where you will enjoy a afternoon game drive. Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge
DAY 3: Masai Mara Enjoy a morning and an afternoon game drive in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. Game includes: - elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lion, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and much more. DAY 4: Lake Nakuru National Park Travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru lodge for lunch. The waters here are often coloured shimmering flamingo pink, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. After lunch you will take an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National park before continuing to Lake Nakuru for overnight. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 5: Amboseli National Park After an early breakfast you will leave Rift Valley behind, you continue towards Nairobi and head south towards Amboseli. Enjoy a picnic lunch with an afternoon game drive in the park enroute to the Amboseli Sopa Lodge, arriving in the evening. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 6: Amboseli National Park Depart the lodge after a sumptuous breakfast for a full day game drive, enjoy a hot picnic lunch at a picnic site. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 7 : Tanzania - Lake Manyara National Park After breakfast, you continue the journey to the Tanzania border post and then on to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, drive across the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift Valley. Here, your hotel is perched high on the rim overlooking the park below. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 8 : Serengeti National Park After breakfast spend the morning exploring and driving through Lake Manyara National Park returning to the lodge for lunch and then depart for Serengeti National Park with some game viewing en route arriving at your lodge as the sun begins to set. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 9 : Serengeti National Park Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti National Park, renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and large predator population. From February to May, a herd of over a million wildebeests migrate for the Western corridor of the park in search of greener pastures. Serengetis' other common animals include lions, leopards, zebras, Thompson gazelles, impala, Grant’s gazelles and buffalos. Most of the park is open grassland broken by isolated granite kopies (hills) and patches of acacia woodlands. Accommodation: Serengeti Sopa Lodge DAY 10: Ngorongoro Conservation area After breakfast with a game drive en-route, you will make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the Conservation Area. On the way, you will visit Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater Overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on a full board basis. DAY 11: Ngorongoro Conservation area A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest natural wildlife zoo. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. At 2286m above sea level and 20 km wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken Caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls, rising 610m from the crater floor, it covers 260 km2 and is home to over 30,000 animals, almost half of them being zebra and wildebeest. Also home to the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest, Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site. In the late afternoon, you will drive to your lodge, situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, where you dine and spend your evening overlooking the magnificent views beneath you. DAY 12: Tarangire National Park Depart Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head south east en route to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. You’ll enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge. After lunch and perhaps a swim, the remainder of the afternoon will be spent on a game drive. Overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge on full board basis. DAY 13 : Arusha/depart Depart Tarangire after breakfast and drive back to Arusha arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you continue the journey by road to Nairobi arriving in Nairobi late afternoon and proceed for dinner in Nairobi city centre before drop off at JKIA airport or City centre Hotel.
