Main Governors’ CampThe setting is magical. So much so that almost a century ago it was reserved, exclusively for Kenya’s colonial Governors and their royal visitors. The camp is nestled along the winding banks of the Mara River, home to substantial herds of elephants, hippos and buffalos whilst also providing home for the herds of migrating zebra and wildebeest. Location: Situated in the west of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Facilities: 0ffers a dining tent and open bar. Leisure facilities include health spa, game drives, balloon safari, visits to the Masai village or local school, curio shop, day excursions to Mfangano Island Camp and Lake Victoria. Accommodation: Main Governors’ Camp has 37 tents with en suite bathroom with shower and private verandah.

Governors Il Moran – the atmosphere of an original hunting camp that is hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest.Il Moran Governors’ Il Moran is for those who want that extra bit of luxury. The camp comprises just 10 tents situated along the banks of the Mara River. This exclusive camp is hidden in the shadow of ancient trees. The camp recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting camps. Each room is furnished to a superior standard. The beds have been hand carved from specially selected wood from fallen, ancient olive trees. The interior of each tent also includes a Victorian style bath, flushing lavatory and double sinks. Each tent has a large, extended veranda designed so you can take dinner in private if you wish. Game drives and game walks are included in the rate and complimentary wine is served with dinner. During the day, meals are served outdoors amongst the trees. Location: Situated in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve with tents strategically sited in the shade of old African fig trees, all overlooking the Mara River. Facilities: An elegant dining tent with views over the Mara River and an open bar. Leisure facilities include health spa, game drives, hot-air balloon safaris and visits to the Masai village. Accommodation: 10 spacious tents with stunning beds that are handmade specifically selected wood taken from ancient olive trees.
