| Itinerary: Day 1 - Nairobi
Situated only 10km from the city centre and 20km from the international airport, the lively Safari Park Hotel is really an African-theme resort providing deluxe accommodation in 64 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and indigenous forest. All of the 204 distinctively designed and decorated rooms are airy and contain television, private bathroom facilities and private balconies. Its six restaurants are excellent and cater to all tastes, including Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Italian, English and African. There is also a casino, several bars, health club, tennis and squash courts (golf nearby) and excellent business/conference facilities.
Fly to the Samburu National Reserve (approximately 1hr 15min) and transfer to your lodge for lunch. Samburu Intrepids looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephants, buffalo and zebras come daily to drink, together with the rarer species of reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx and long-necked gerenuk antelope. A late afternoon game drive. Dinner & overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp. (b/l/d) Samburu Intrepids in SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE is renowned as a pioneer of luxury camping and is situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River. The acclaimed Adventurers' Club offers a uniquely educational safari experience for children. This luxurious tented lodge offers 27 modern tents with a private view over the wildlife-rich riverbanks. Day 3 - Samburu Morning and afternoon game drives to observe Samburu's unusual wildlife. The Ewaso Nyiro River provides an oasis from the equatorial sun in this harsh spectacular land of rocky soil and scrubland. Bird enthusiasts will be rewarded with a wealth of species attracted to the palm tree-lined permanent waters of the river. Photographers will appreciate the dramatic backdrop of Ololokwe Mountain. You'll eagerly search for leopards lounging high on tree limbs. Enjoy a sundowner & canapés this evening before returning to the camp for dinner. There will be time to relax by the pool in between game drives. Camel and walking safaris can be arranged (book and pay locally). At the end of the day, you'll savor the quiet activity of the river. Overnight at Samburu Intrepids. (b/l/d) Day 4 - Samburu - Lake Naivasha Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport (approximately 1hr) Met on arrival, lunch and transfer to the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort at Lake Naivasha. Leisure activities at the lodge include boating and fishing on Lake Naivasha, tennis, a driving range, horse riding and mountain biking with expert guides, and an 18-hole golf course. The lodge sits at about 7,000 feet from which elevation, it enjoys magnificent views to the west and east. The vistas stretch from the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha to the jagged volcanic crater of Mount Longonot. Overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort. (b/l/d) Day 5 - Lake Naivasha Breakfast and a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park with possible sightings of the endangered black rhino. Lake Nakuru boasts of the most spectacular of all of Africa's bird sights, enormous flocks of pastel pink flamingoes, as well as other bird species. Return to Great Rift Valley Lodge for overnight. (b/l/d) Perched on the Eburu Escarpment, overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha, and the sweeping floor of the world's largest valley, the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort enjoys incredible views and also offers an Adventurers' Club for children. LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK & LAKE NAIVASHA RIFT VALLEY DISTRICT The Great Rift Valley Lodge offers 21 twin and 9 double rooms, all with private balconies overlooking the spectacular valley floor with large four-poster beds, handmade wooden furniture, African prints, and modern en suite bathrooms. Transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to the Maasai Mara (approximately 45 minutes) - one of the world's most enthralling wildlife theatres. The reserve plays host of countless species, including the 'big five' (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) and the incredible spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration during the months of July - 0ctober. An afternoon game drive. Overnight Mara Intrepids Camp. (b/l/d). The Mara Intrepids Camp in MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the Mara and also has an Adventurers' Club for children. The camp is a short drive from the Mara River, where more than a million wildebeest and zebra make their perilous migration crossing every July and August. For the remainder of the year, the camp offers some of the world’s finest game viewing, with large local populations of elephants, rhinos, buffalos, and all the Big Cats. 30 luxury tents are widely spread across a large riverside site to ensure guests the optimum privacy and peace. Day 7 - Maasai Mara After a morning game drive, enjoy a bush breakfast by the hippo pool returning back to the camp by mid morning. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve. Time to relax by the pool overlooking the endless panorama stretched out before you. Overnight Mara Intrepids. (b/l/d). Day 8 - Maasai Mara - Nairobi Light aircraft flight to Nairobi (approximately 1 hour) , met on arrival and then proceed with your chosen extension.

The Adventure Club for ages under 12 include activities
such as build your own mini Maasai homestead, have a close brush with a
toothbrush tree, learn to make a fire with a pair of sticks, catch and
study the brightest butterflies, plant a tree and help bring back the
rains, cast big cat tracks from the real thing, make friends quiver with
your own bow, learn how to identify birds of all feathers, and stalk
victory in our bush treasure hunts. A few of the children’s activities include: interaction with Maasai from children to village elders, making campfires, throwing spears, basic Kiswahili lessons, tracking and spoor-casting, traditional dancing and much more.
The Adventure Club for ages 12-17 include activities such as bush orienteering, first aid, snakes, bird identification, tree identification, mammal behaviour studies, and guided bush walks. |
