A favourite for first-time safari-goers, East Africa offers a bit of everything: No matter which game parks you visit, you are likely to see a wide array of game in larger numbers than almost anywhere else. For those of you who are as fascinated and perplexed by the great migration of the wildebeest , this phenomenon can be seen here most of the year, depending on where you go. July through September the migration can be seen in Kenya's Masai Mara before they move south into the Serengeti plains of Tanzania, where they ultimately congregate and bear their young in January and February. The entire herd then begins its return to the Masai Mara. Be amazed by the immense expanse of sky and plains, in a country with game reserves the size of some countries and where the safari enthusiast will be satisfied by a truly African experience. 'All of Africa in one country', Kenya is one of the most spectacular destinations imaginable. With its long tropical beaches and dramatic wildlife parks, Kenya has an exotic tourist image. Justifiably, for this is one of the most beautiful lands in Africa and a satisfyingly exciting and relatively easy place to travel, whether on a short holiday or an extended stay. Fall in love with this magnificent country, where the wildlife is abundant and diverse and the landscape dramatic. Tanzania is a remarkable country whose wilderness remains relatively untouched. Northern Tanzania boasts many of the wonders that are renowned throughout the world: breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro, the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site teeming with game and the Serengeti National Park, famed for its mass migration of vast herds of zebra and wildebeest. To the east lies the mystical island of Zanzibar, with its evocative, historical 'Stone Town' and gorgeous white beaches. |

ACCESSIBILITY Many of East Africa's National Parks and highlights are accessible by both road or air, making it an easy region to navigate. For those who prefer travel by air, an efficient network of local scheduled flights links the different areas; if joining a small group, road safaris can be excellent value for those on a budget. The roads are rough, so travellers with back problems would do better to fly. |

|
Several charter companies specialise in small aircraft flights straight to all the popular parks and reserves. Apart from offering spectacular aerial views, this mode of travel is recommended for clients who have limited time and those who would prefer to avoid rougher and longer driving sections. |

GORGEOUS
LANDSCAPES The extraordinary diversity of East Africa's landscape is not to be missed! From the snow-capped majesty of Mounts Kilimanjaro and Kenya, to the fantastic Ngorongoro Crater and savannah plains of the Masai Mara and Serengeti, this corner of the continent boasts some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. It is the Africa of your imagination, and has been a classic safari destination for decades, not only for the wildlife but also because of her sweeping, rugged, powerful beauty. |

FASCINATING
CULTURE Africa is not just about animals - it is her people which make her an eternally beautiful, fascinating, and perplexing continent. Nowhere else can you witness so readily the tribal cultures of the Masai and Samburu peoples, vividly clothed and beaded in traditional garb, living the way they have for centuries. A friendly "Jambo" will elicit a ready smile and wave, and ample opportunity to learn about and share in another culture. |

Kenya is a land of spectacular, natural beauty and
diversity. From snow covered peaks of Africa's highest mountains,
endless white sun kissed beaches, forests, deserts, amazing lakes and
the most magnificent collection of wildlife in a natural, untouched
state - Kenya has it all. This is a paradise that SafarisOnline would
like you to experience. A typical day on safari starts with a pre-dawn wake up with hot tea and biscuits. As the sun rises you will head out into the bush with your safari guide on a Game Drive. Mid morning (between 9am - 11am), as wildlife activity begins to slow, you will return to camp for brunch. The middle of your Kenya safari day is spent resting, as wildlife activity is very limited - due to the high daily temperatures when many animals seek shade or other shelter. You may enjoy reading, take a nap, or take a cooler with drinks and view wildlife from a nearby hide (available at many lodges and camps). A late lunch is normally served around one pm. A typical afternoon game viewing safari usually starts after tea around 3pm, and extends till well past sunset with drinks served in the bush. After dark you return to camp for a refreshing shower and sundowners around a boma fire. Dinner is normally served around the fire followed by dessert and after dinner drinks. Depending on where you are this could be a full crystal and linen affair, or a real rugged 'bush-cuisine' camp dinner. |
